John C. Goodwin started playing guitar at 12 years old learning to play his favorite Aerosmith and Kiss songs.  John took lessons when he was 14 for about a year, and was fortunate enough to join his first band, Intruder.  He started off playing backyard parties first, playing covers, eventually writings his own songs at the age of 15.  John hit the studio at 16 years old and was hooked for life.  By this time he had learned that playing lead guitar was all about phrasing, melody, and harmony.  It still holds true for him today.
He continued writing songs through the years, from instrumental stuff to just good old rock and roll.  In 1990, he went on a 15 year hiatus, still recording and writing but not playing in a band.
In 2005, he formed Blue Hail and released our self titled album.  Many gigs later, life called again, he took another break from music for a time.  The urge to get out and play live hit him like a ton of bricks.  He played around Sacramento with “Radio Heavy”, and “On the Fly”.  Later, landed a deal with
Gatewood Guitars and crossed over to country music.  He played with Midnight Railway, and also Tim Thurman of Nashville.  Eventually John came back to his calling, heavy rock and melodic metal.  We then started the band “Four Ten”.
We released our first single, "The Truth". Our next single, "Desert Sun".
In 2005, John released the self titled blue hail record and was praised for its 80s and 90s type guitar solos mostly over in Europe and Germany years later released for singles with the band four ten which was released in the middle of the pandemic, along with a video for desert sun. John and the guys had a good stand with the fall releases doing them via remote because at that time nobody could go anywhere because of Covid and the video was done with green screens. Today, John is writing and releasing songs with the Flying Axe Guild, and things couldn’t be better
Kenneth "Cajun" Adam has been drumming for 20 wonderful years. He got his first kit when he was 16 years old. He wanted to be a drummer like his birth dad whose father was also a drummer. Raised mostly by his grandparents he grew up listening to older music and was heavily into Alternative rock in his formative years. After learning the Blues from kind mentors in Georgia his skill set really began to grow. Living in Ohio and drumming 5+ nights a week helped him hone his style and dynamics to become a beloved musician in the Mansfield scene. That's when he was introduced to Metal and it changed him forever. He performed with Malachi and the Larry Cadle Blues Trio. After that he returned to California and played for many years with Nitro 454 while beginning to learn to work as a Studio drummer. After forming a life long relationship with Gus Cadle he would continue to provide studio drum recording for Magnum Opus, Ltd. and work with artists and businesses alike to produce music, commercials, movie soundtracks, and company jingles for use in business and internet entities. He started a family with his devoted wife and did at home recording until he met John C. Goodwin. Performing with The Flying Axe Guild affords me the opportunity to bring a variety of dynamic musicality and performance to the songs while getting a lot of opportunities to just rock out and have fun.
